Some of the most majestic views you will come across in the Southern Highlands are from the National Park at Fitzroy Falls.  As you can see,  even on a misty day,  a visit here provides a breathtaking experience.

There are numerous walking tracks, that can take you from a few minutes to a couple of hours to walk.  The lookouts you come across along the way are bound to delight you, and give you views of not just the water falls

A long or a short walk -  either will reveal the beauty of this National Park.

There is an enormous variety of plant life.  Eucalypts, ferns, Banksias, a variety of Lichen and fungi.

At this time of year it is often misty.  The mist I’m sure has been pre-arranged, to prompt you to look at the many other things that appeal besides the view.  Keep your eyes peeled, look around you.  You may even see a Lyre Bird!

These little members of the fungi family were growing vertically out from a moist rock.  Wonderful aren’t they?

Every now and again, return to a lookout to see what ever changing sights the rolling mist reveals.

When you’ve walked up an appetite, warm up in the Visitors’ Centre Cafe with a freshly made soup, home made pie, topped with mashed potatoes or maybe just a hot coffee, and a muffin just out of the oven.

The Fitzroy Falls Visitors’ Centre also has an information centre and shop.  Here you can ask staff about the Fitzroy Falls National Park, as well as any other National Park.  The Visitors’ Centre can provide you with daily or annual passes, check for available camping sites in other areas, and will ensure your visit to Fitzroy Falls is an enjoyable one.

The shop has a variety of locally made products, and feature a different local artist monthly.   Well worth a visit.
